What is PROpatient?

PROpatient is a research project that aims to test whether symptom-monitoring and care-coordination can improve the quality of life of people with pancreatic, oesophageal or stomach cancers.

People with pancreatic, oesophageal and stomach cancer may experience symptoms and/or problems that decrease their quality of life.

We think that patient care can be improved through the combination of:

• Patients regularly completing questionnaires to report their symptoms and/or problems whilst at home using their computer or smart phone

• Review of these symptoms/problems by a PROpatient nurse who will then talk to the patient over the phone to provide expert information/support and coordinate the patient’s care with the relevant clinicians
